Hi, I’m Michael Evans
Photography has always been my way of slowing down and paying attention. Whether I am capturing the decisive moment in a youth sports game, the quiet in between at a family gathering, or the energy of a special event, I bring the same intention to every frame: find what is real, and preserve it. Based in Colorado Springs, I work with families, athletes, and organizations who want images that feel less like documentation and more like memory.
What drives me is the belief that great photography is about people first and technique second. I take time to understand what matters to each client before I ever pick up a camera, because the best images come from knowing whose story you are telling. When you work with me, you are not just getting a photographer. You are getting someone who genuinely cares about getting it right.
My Approach
My approach to photography starts with observation. Before I raise the camera, I am reading the room, watching how people interact, noticing where the light falls, and looking for the moments that are about to happen. I believe the best images are not manufactured but uncovered, and that means staying patient, staying present, and knowing when to step back and let a scene breathe. Whether I am tracking an athlete at full speed or waiting for a quiet look between two people at a family gathering, my job is to be ready when the real moment arrives. Every frame I deliver is one I would be proud to hang on my own wall.
